IsleBebytheSea guests have their own private back lawn, lined with trees on 2 sides. Young fruit bushes are planted beside the trees, although they are seasonal, so may not be in fruit when you visit.. There is an outside tap for rinsing off your outdoor gear and underseat storage by the door for wet clothing. An outdoor fire bowl/bbq is available, along with fuel and an outdoor table and seating, for use when the weather allows it.
The hut is located at the bottom of my garden on our working croft, in-front of you is approx 40 m of grazing, opening onto the sea shore via a private foot path. The hut is set 50 meters away from the road, and is on a main bus route. This is a rural location, in the North Lochs area of the Isle of Lewis. Our location is central to Lewis and Harris, ideal for exploring the our Islands. It is approx 15 min drive from Stornoway and 45 min drive from Tarbert, (just 30 min drive til you’re actually in Harris though). . FYI for the adventurous..We are close to the Hebridean Way route!
While IsleBebytheSea is fenced off, please be aware we have cats, dogs, hens and horses near your accommodation, and the cats will likely be keen to meet you!
This is primarily a working croft so sadly we are not suitably geared up for accepting young children. Sorry if this doesn’t suit your needs. (I can recommend HebridesBothy.com for child friendly accommodation though!) Please also note the hut is accessed via 2 steps.
Guests staying at IsleBebytheSea have access to my small home gym. It is attached to my house, approx. 40 metres from hut. The gym is approx. 3 Metres by 4 Metres and contains resistance and cardiovascular equipment; treadmill, exercise bike, squat cage, Olympic bar and range of weight plates, single cable, small selection of free weights and various other bits of kit. I am a trained gym instructor and will require anyone using the gym to complete a short safety induction with me first. Gym use is for over 16s only.
As a little extra bonus for guests, IsleBebytheSea has a ‘secret garden’ with a deck in it, May – Sept we sit a ‘Lay Z Spa’ hot tub (soft tub) on it. *The secret garden is a wild garden, we purposefully don’t cut it and plant it with various seeds and bulbs, to try and encourage pollinating insects – we grow fruit here so depend on these critters.. Don’t worry though, you have a path right to the deck..*
